There are multiple ways available to boost brain power, but I will tell you which I followed and implemented in my life. It is so simple; you don’t need any guru or psychiatrist to implement it. What you need is just a little bit of time or schedule to achieve it.
But before going into all details first let’s understand the brain and subconscious mind.
Wait don’t worry, I will not go into the anatomy part, will try to explain you in simple words.
The brain is the most complex and important part of our body. It works 24/7 and is made up of million nerves. It processes everything from touch to taste. In simple words, it is the controller of our human body. It is around three pounds. It consumes more power than any other organ. It is responsible for our body functions, behavior, emotions, interpretation, creativity, memory, and many more. It is our responsibility to keep this organ fit and healthy, by following the suggested steps you can improve its performance. With a healthy brain, you can boost your subconscious power.
Here will tell you a little about the Subconscious mind, it is an invisible mind. It is made up of the past and future. It has tons of tons of memory stored in it since our childhood and we make decisions basis that memory. It mainly focuses on storing and retrieval of information. The subconscious mind decides our behavior and who we are. Our habits, mindset, success, and failure are all created by our subconscious minds. In terms of computer science, it is like a computer program to control humans.
It controls our breathing, thinking, heartbeat, and body temperature, here I have told you some examples, but it controls so many things beyond our imagination.
It always thinks in terms of the past and future, rather than the present. If diverted in the correct way, then it helps you to focus on your present. That’s why it’s so important to be mindful and focus on the present. Due to this reason always say “I am rich and successful” rather than “I will be rich and successful”
There are numerous studies are done on the subconscious mind, and it is proven that we can achieve anything using it.
For so many years we thought our brain is static and we can’t improve it. But with the help of modern science, it is very much clear that we can reshape our brain. Our brain works day and night and we hardly think of it.
Neuroplasticity is a new theory; with this, it is proved that our brain changes as per our thoughts and some techniques. Repetition is the most important word in neuroplasticity, with the help of repetitions you can improve your weak areas.
As I said earlier you don’t need money, a guru, or a doctor to boost your brain power, all you need is a little time, effort, and continuous practice.
I think I have said so many things, you might get bored, so let’s just jump on to the main topic.
- Meditation:
If you go through my About page you will understand what role meditation had played in my life. It is the best thing that ever happened to me. I stand here because of meditation. Many people say it is very difficult to meditate, I am saying they are wrong. It is the easiest way to control your mind and good thing is that you can do it everywhere, you can do it while sitting on the sofa or you can do it while sitting in the garden or you can do it right after reading this post. There is no specific time or schedule required.
All you need is to close your eyes and pay attention to your breathing. This line is very important, read it again and then slowly inhale and exhale. Feel the warmth of breathing on tip of your nose. As the mind wanders bring back your attention to your breathing.
Do it every day at least for 15 minutes. I personally do it for 30 minutes without any break. This will help you to relax, and reduce stress and anxiety.
This will increase neurogenesis; let me tell you what is neurogenesis? Neurogenesis is the process by which new neurons and cells are generated in the brain. New neurons will boost your brain power and increase your productivity. Relax mind is crucial to increasing neurogenesis. Each time you are doing mind exercise you are helping your brain to produce new cells and neurons.

- Sleep 8 to 9 hours a day.
This is very important to boost your brain power. Sleep is the process of detoxification. During sleep, our body generates new cells and removes toxic products. You need sleep of 8 to 9 hours a day to feel fresh. Some people say no I don’t need that much sleep I can utilize that time for another task but as per my experience, that is not true. With improved brain power, you can do any work half of the time. Always go to bed before 10:30 PM to wake up early.
- Listen to the music.
Music is a proven way to boost your brain power. Numerous studies have shown the benefits of music on the brain. Music helps to improve analytical power. I personally listen to music when I feel sad, it quickly shifts my mood. Remember try to listen to soft music, you can listen to Mozart.
Musical waves release a feel-good chemical in our brain that is the reason why we feel fresh when we listen to our favorite song.
- Brain-Boosting Diet.
Our diet has a massive impact on brain function. What we eat becomes we this saying is very much true. The brain consumes more power and nutrients than any other organ. Always eat fresh vegetables, seasonal fruits, and dry fruits. I especially recommend walnut and almonds; it has omega-3 fatty acid, and monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats which are essential for brain function.
- Laughing.
Everyday laughing increase natural feel-good chemicals in the body. It releases endorphins which help in reducing stress. Meet your friends, crack some jokes and laugh loudly.
Defiantly it helps. These released chemicals can increase your brain power.
- Writing.
Writing creates impressions in your memory, our brain remembers written words more easily. It improves your imagination and analytical ability. Writing here means, noting down your daily routine or writing something on a random topic.
I am not saying you should write it like a book author but writing simple statements can improve your thinking power. As soon as you start imagining it puts pressure on your brain to think in a different way, this is like exercise to your brain, this results in the generation of new connections(neuroplasticity).
So, start writing.
- Reading.
Leaders are the readers. This saying is very much true. When it comes to neuroplasticity nothing can beat reading. Reading is to your brain is what exercise to your body.
Numerous studies have proved reading leads to neuroplasticity. Try to read at least one page a day. As soon as you feed the brain with new information it creates new connections to process it. With continuous reading and processing, new neurons are formed in the brain. New connections are very much important to boost brain power.
- Exercise.
Regular exercise increases blood flow to the brain. Which generates neurogenesis, ok let me tell you what it means. Neurogenesis is the process of generating new nervous tissue. I always do jump rope skipping exercises. This increases oxygen flow towards the brain which results in more productivity.
- Take a break in between tasks.
It is proved by a study that the human brain cannot work with the same productivity for more than 15 minutes.
Always take a break in between working or whatever task you are doing. This gives the brain time to relax and think in a different way. I used this technique during long working hours and believe me this works. I always close my eyes and do deep breathing during this break. You will feel very relaxed; next time please try it.
- Bribe the brain with a reward.
Our brain is always hungry for rewards. Remember when we were children, we used to get rewards in return for doing something. This creates more hunger for rewards. The same is applicable to our brain. Let me tell you how to apply it.
Think of something which you like most but avoid it because of time constraints. It can be anything like watching a movie or playing a video game totally depends on your choice. I would like you to pick that thing. Now you must convince your brain that it will get that special thing only if it completes the task. This will work like a miracle, it worked for me multiple times.
After getting rewards our brain feels more relaxed and less stressed and we will realize our task is achieved with more productivity.
